Glossary
The words the site uses, each in a line. The longer versions are on How to play and How scoring works.
- Draft
- One run of the game: a random raid boss, one item taken from what it drops, repeated until every slot is full.
- Slot lock
- Taking an item locks its slot for the rest of the run. A better helm six bosses later changes nothing; your head slot is done.
- Reroll
- Skip the boss on the board and draw another. You get three a run; spend them on a board with nothing for you, not on a board with something.
- Pity
- When a boss drops nothing you can use, the board offers a consolation blue instead. A pity item fills the slot like any other and is marked as pity on your results.
- Two-hander
- One weapon that fills both the main hand and the off hand. Taking one closes two slots with one pick, which ends a Standard run a roll early.
- DPS
- The model's estimate of what your drafted set does in a fight, from stat weights checked against WoWSims. A relative figure for comparing sets, not a promise about the game.
- Parse
- Where your run's DPS sits against everyone else's runs on the same spec, as a percentile. A 90 beat nine in ten of them. The number on your results page and on the boards.
- 100
- A fixed bar per spec, not "beat every run". Reach it and you have a 100 whatever anyone else does that day.
- Score
- How well you drafted, as one number: the precision of your picks against what each board offered, and the rarity of what you ended up wearing. Two runs with the same parse can have different Scores.
- Best in slot
- The best item the model knows for a slot, or the best whole set it can assemble for a spec. The spec guides list both. Every results page shows your set as a share of that ceiling.
- Stat weights
- The value of one point of each stat to a spec. The board colors an item's stats by them; the spec guides give the order.
- Hit cap
- The amount of hit past which more is worth nothing or much less, depending on the spec. Shown on your character sheet during a run.
- Tier set
- A class's raid armour set. Wearing more pieces of one earns a set bonus that the model values; the Zul'Gurub class sets earn a smaller one.
- Zone drop
- An item with no single boss. It belongs to a raid's shared pool and can appear on any board in that raid.
- Standard
- The main mode. Your own random boss order, three rerolls, a full set, a parse. Play as many as you like; the boards keep your best per spec.
- Daily
- One shared board per spec per day: everyone drafts from the same twenty bosses in the same order. One run per spec, and the day's board ranks only that day.
- Day total
- Your Daily score for the day: your best five spec boards added together. Nothing beyond five is added.
- Streak
- Consecutive days with a Daily run. Practice runs on past days do not extend it.
- Practice run
- A supporter's run on a past Daily board. It never counts for a leaderboard, a streak or a badge.
- Duel
- A series of legs against one opponent on a target dummy, both drafting on the same terms. Neither side sees the other's leg until both are in. Duels stay off the boards and off the parse curves.
- Leg
- One run inside a duel. The challenger sets how many legs a series is when the duel is made.
- Month
- The board's season. Standard boards run a calendar month, and a finished month is final: nothing added later moves it.
- Weights version
- Every run records the version of the stat weights it was scored under. A run is never rescored; when the weights change, the old version stays on the board if the change was small.
- Content version
- The build of the item and loot data a run was drafted from, recorded on the run for the same reason.
- Recruit link
- Your share links carry a code. Friends who sign up through it are counted on your profile.
- Icon
- A small mark worn beside your name on the boards and in the header, earned by badges or by supporting the site. You choose which to wear.
- Badge
- An achievement on your profile: a 100 on a spec, a full clear of a Daily, a duel record, a BlizzCon visit. A badge applies from the day it ships, never backwards.
- Supporter
- A Patreon patron. Supporters get the supporter badge and icon, unlimited username changes, their own channels in the Discord, and can play past Daily boards as practice.
